The sanding pads are significantly softer and more flexible than the sanding sponges. The foam is so flexible and light that the pad can be compressed from 13 mm to 1 to 2 mm thickness with two fingers. As such the pad can be made to follow any material shape. Again the grit is bound to the backing material with a strong plastic resin!
