The Glow-worm condensate trap captures the discharge which accumulates in the primary heating or cooling system caused by alterations in the temperature and pressure within those systems. A discharge pipe joined to the condensate trap then allows any held water passage out of the property. The water contained within the condensate trap can contain mild levels of acid due to carbon dioxide from the combustion process dissolving in the water. This is why the discharge pipe is made of plastic.
