A Mushroom Vent Cowl is a domed plastic fitting which allows air to escape without letting water or debris in. From the top the domed surface allows water to run off of it, but from the bottom it attaches to a 110mm push fit pipe. There’s a gap at the bottom of the dome which will allow air to escape.
Usually the vent is used at the top of the soil stack, above roof level, where it will allow gasses to escape without the smell being noticed by anyone else. The mushroom vent simply pushes over the top of a plain ended piece of 110mm soil pipe, However a solvent weld cement can be used to glue it on for a more secure fit if required.
The product is lightweight (less than 0.5kg) and is made from uPVC plastic. uPVC is strong and offers good heat and chemical resistance properties.
The vent cowls come in three colours. Black, grey and white. However we don’t keep white in stock so please call us if you require this colour and we’ll get back to you with price and availability.
You’ll commonly find vent cowls fitted not only to a normal house, but they’re often also used on caravans, boats, barges, outhouses, chicken sheds, farm buildings and even for attenuation systems to allow air to escape.

Please note that custom color-mixed paints cannot be returned. These products are mixed specifically for you, based on the color you select, and therefore cannot be resold.
We will, however, accept a return or provide a replacement if there is a manufacturing issue or if the color you received does not match the color ordered. If this happens, simply contact us with your order details and photos, and we’ll take care of it.
